I am very excited to be back in my role as Inclusion Coach between three schools: Alix, Clive and Mecca Glen. It was a big learning curve last year and I am looking forward to this year as an opportunity to learn and grow with staff and students I am now famililar with! I feel very blessed to be able to experience the culture of three very unique schools. My time is divided so that I am at Alix half time, with the rest of the time divided between Clive and Mecca Glen. I enjoy the variety this role provides, as well as the challenge of working with many different staff and students.
I joined the Wolf Creek team in the fall of 2012, working as Inclusion Coach at Ecole Lacombe Upper Elementary until June, 2015. Here is a little of my background before that. I graduated from the University of Alberta in 1997. I began teaching for Northlands School Division in 1997, moving on to Northern Gateway School Division in 1999. For these years I worked as a resource room teacher and coordinator at the elementary level. From 2002 - 2006 I stayed at home to raise my two children, and once my eldest went to school, I began teaching again, this time with Battle River School Division as a Kindergarten teacher. My position changed a few times within Battle River, where I had the experience of working with Junior and Senior High students, as well as teaching Grade 2. Throughout the years at Battle River I also held the position of Learning Facilitator, which is similar to my current role as Inclusion Coach.
One of the best parts of my job is working with students individually or in small groups, providing reading interventions. I also enjoy working with parents, staff and outside agencies to put supports in place for students.
I live near Buffalo Lake with my husband, two children, and all sorts of pets. I have many hobbies such as reading, writing, art, knitting and crochet.
